Frequently asked questions
Is the game free?
Yes. The download and every part of the game are free, and there are no in-app purchases. Coins come only from playing and cannot be bought with real money.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Playing the computer opponent, local two-player, the daily puzzle and tournaments all work offline. Only online matches need a connection.
Do I need an account to play?
No. There is no account, no email and no password. On first launch you are asked for a display name, and you can skip even that. Every part of the game is unlocked from install.
How do I earn coins?
By winning games, finishing daily missions, claiming the daily login gift, solving the daily puzzle and climbing the ranks. There is a daily cap so grinding does not replace real practice.
How does the ranking work?
Nine ranks, from “Soldier” to “Grandmaster”. Every win scores, but not equally: a win against the hard opponent is worth several times a win against the easy one, and your accuracy counts too. A loss does not subtract points, but it does not add any either.
Why does reaching the top ranks take so long?
By design. Each tier needs roughly 1.7 times the points of the one below it, and there is a daily score cap. Reaching the highest rank takes months of regular play — which is exactly what makes it worth something.
Does the game show ads?
Yes — banners and occasionally a pop-up. The ads come from our own server and there is no third-party ad network in the app, which means they are not personalised based on your behaviour and no profile of you is ever built.
Do you collect my data?
Your name, email, phone number, location and device identifier are never read. What the game saves stays on your phone. The Privacy Policy page has the full detail.
Which devices does the game run on?
Android 7 (API 24) and newer, on phones and tablets. The board layout adapts to the screen size.
Is there two-player mode on one phone?
Yes. Two-player mode takes two separate names and the phone is passed between players. No internet needed.
Are the doubling cube and gammon supported?
Yes. Match play to 3, 5 or 7 points with the full doubling cube. Gammon and backgammon are both scored correctly.
